Logging In
You should be able to login for free using your desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone. For Zoom you will be prompted to download a free app. Your login device should have a microphone, camera, and speakers. This app updates frequently. You should update your Zoom weekly.
Fixing A Glitchy Zoom Video
While in a meeting your Zoom video may freeze or appear to flicker. To fix the frozen video you can try turning off the video. This will free up the amount of data transfer through your internet connection. For the flickering video problem you can try the following:
1. Click on the up arrow next to the Video Camera icon bottom left of the black screen.
2. Click on 'Video Settings'.
3. Click on 'Advanced' at the bottom.
4. Uncheck 'Optimize Video Quality'.
5. Click the X in the top right corner.
Keeping Track of Who Has Shared
We wanted to keep track of who in the meeting has already shared. We wanted a method that would persist for the entire meeting. After trying several methods we settled on using the Rename feature, available to both Hosts and Co-Hosts. We like this method:
1. In your Participants list mouseover the name you want to change and click Rename.
2. Click in the white space after the name and you should see your cursor blinking.
3. Click on the Left Arrow key on your keyboard to move your cursor to the front of the name.
4. Simply copy this arrow ▶ and paste in front of the name. Add a space after the arrow.
5. Now you can just paste (Ctrl+v) the arrow in front of any name that has shared.
You can add more arrows for double-dippers etc. It also changes the icon to show just the arrow and makes it very quick and easy to sort through a long list of names. Your welcome.
